Go Waves

The Pre-Competitive program, referred to as “Pre-Compet,” is designed for

swimmers who want to be a part of the team, but have not reached the level or
age necessary to compete. Here is some information about the team:

• Age 7 or under who do not have experience with all four strokes.
• Swimmers must be able to swim across the pool without stopping. This will be assessed during the first week of practice. If they cannot, they can see a coach about private lessons.
• Swimmers will increase their endurance and develop cleaner stroke technique.
• Swimmers will participate in the league’s Pre-Compet meet at Homestead on July 6th
• The last day for Pre-Compet is Friday, 7th, and swimmers’ parents are invited to take part in the celebration during practice time to see the improvement.
• Swimmers will graduate from Pre-Compet and join the 8 and under group the following season.
